Deep Snow Bowhunting in Ohio (Late Season)

On Sunday January 16th, 2022 a massive snow storm dumped lots of snow on the eastern 1/3 of the USA. With over a foot of snow on the ground at the hunting lease in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, Jonas & Lewis head out in the afternoon of January 18th.

Lewis decided to use his crossbow, as he hadn't shot his compound in a few months. On the way in to the blind, we saw lot's of tracks and about 5 or 6 beds only about 20 yards from our homemade blind.

As soon as we got into the blind we realized we had left a window open the last time. There was snow inside the blind.

Soon after getting into the blind, a small yearling buck showed up, ate some corn at the cornpile, and then left towards the east, heading up the hill onto the neighboring property.

About 15 minutes before dark, a small button buck showed up and had got his share of corn at the pile. We were still able to get great video of him 5 minutes after legal due to the snow and a good hunting camera.

We stopped at Taco Bell for tacos on the way home. We will try again next time.
